Welcome to ACES

The American Copy Editors Society works toward the advancement of copy editors. Our aim is to provide training, solutions to editing problems and a place to discuss common issues.

ACES is an international members’ alliance of editors working at newspapers, magazines, websites, traditional media outlets, nonprofits, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies, as well as freelance editors, students and their professors.

Some may think of us as grammar geeks, punctuation freaks and syntax-obsessed snobs; in reality, we’re an organization built on the needs of our members and the advancement of editing as a craft vital to clear writing and reader advocacy.

ACES is the premier professional organization for copy editors in the U.S.
